Blog Post #21- Editing 1
Our editing process was fairly simple, with a few problems
that had to be overcome. For starters, a character in the film wore a mask and
because of that, the lines they said were muffled and quiet. To counteract this
we added captions to the entire film to make sure the audience could understand
everything that was being said. The video effects we used for the film were
simple. There were hard jump cuts, transitions and background music. Adding the
background music was a challenge because we had to make sure it diidnt
overpower the dialogue but also wasn’t too loud. The solution was to find a
good medium so that it could be heard. Overall the editing process took about 2
hours to add in everything, music, text, and additional shots. Another problem
we found was that our final product wasn’t long enough, so we needed to add
exposition shots. At night, our editor went out and took various shots of his
neighborhood do add to the beginning to give us that extra time. Adding the
text like credits and captions wasn’t very difficult, it just took a bit of research
to figure out how to make it look good.
