Blog Post #7- 10/24/22 Mood Board Project The genre I chose for my mood board is horror. Given the time of year, it felt only fitting. The recipe for most modern and old horror movies consists of a dark, gritty setting with less than dependable characters and of course a formidable threat, in the form of an angry spirit or an axe wielding maniac. Locations can vary significantly, with some settings including a city or entire state, and some confined to a few rooms in a house. A very good example of this is a movie I saw recently, "The Black Phone". The location for the movie is Wilmington, North Carolina. Despite this, the setting of the movie is mostly a small room holding the main protagonist as he deals with the insanity of the villain. I feel that horror movies can have limitless creative freedom with props, as horror just has to give the audience a feeling of unease and danger. Prop designers can create Eldritch beings beyond human understanding as seen in "The Mis...
Blog Post #6- 10/10/22 Sound Art Project For this project, my group had Will, Brian, and Angel. The story behind our project is the journey of a plate through a restaurant. Most of the sounds for this project were made by ourselves, with little artificial help. For help with sounds, there were plenty of free to use sounds on YouTube, and on the WeVideo website. The planning process was simple, as all that was needed was a story board which was easy to make. The board detailed different sounds that were needed and the spots they would fit in, with some additions along the way. There no major changes throughout the process, only one or 2 small fixes to sound placement and use. There were no difficulties because as i previously said, most of the sounds were made by us so they were easy to access and use. Having worked in a restaurant before, although brief, I had some knowledge of what goes on in the kitchen which helped massively with the beginning and end of the project. An inspira...
Blog Post #5- 10/4/22 Movie Rating using Rubric The movie I decided to watch and score was the Lego Batman Movie.  The movie I decided to watch and score was the Lego Batman Movie.  An animated action movie released in 2017, created by Warner Bros. studios. Story- In my opinion, the story takes a backseat in the movie compared to the dynamic characters and impressive animation. The movie is a comedy, so the story doesn’t take itself too seriously, which I enjoyed. The plot is that of a typical Batman; he finds a villain, in this case all of the villains he’s fought, there’s a side plot involving different characters, they go through a struggle and ultimately use the power of friendship to save the day. It’s a simple feel good movie with a rather standard plot. Rating: 15/20 Camera work- Since it was animated, there were no instances of human influence when it came to camera shots and angles. Stop motion movies such at this take tons of time with many camera angles ...
